The chipset is a set of electronic components in an integrated circuit that manages the data flow between the processor, memory and peripherals. This integrated circuit is known as a “Data Flow Management System”.
PC chipsets are designed by Intel and AMD but are found on motherboards from a variety of third-party vendors.
The Intel 810 Chipset included integrated 3D graphics (AGP) with video out, and supported a 100 MHz system bus.
